“Born in São Paulo, I spent my childhood moving between Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia, then studied political science in Rome and completed my master's in international relations between Bologna and Buenos Aires. Being the perpetual outsider taught me adaptability. I first learned Spanish and English out of necessity to keep up in school and connect with classmates, years later, during pandemic lockdowns in Italy, I learned Italian for the same reasons: to connect with others.
Returning to São Paulo in 2023, fresh out of university and job hunting, I found a one-month posting to assist with SAP's Social Sabbatical program. The program offers SAP employees the opportunity to take paid time away from their day jobs to provide pro-bono consulting services to NGOs and social enterprises.
Working alongside the SAP team at the Impact Hub, a socio-environmental and economic startup accelerator, I witnessed something remarkable: genuine trust, open communication, and collaborative problem-solving. When they gave me feedback, it was direct but kind, focused on helping me develop rather than just critiquing. That openness changed everything.”
“At my final presentation to SAP's São Paulo office, Gloria, who would become my manager, happened to attend. The timing was perfect: she was hiring, I was looking for my next opportunity and my presentation resonated with her shared background in international relations and education.
Now with the University Alliances team for Latin America and the Caribbean, I connect SAP's educational technologies with universities across the region. We offer solutions like Global Bike, an interactive game where students manage a fictitious company using SAP S/4HANA, our enterprise resource planning product suite, learning our systems hands-on before entering the workforce.
Brazil has a talent gap and people typically only discover SAP when required to use it professionally. We're changing that by training young people early and connecting them with our partner ecosystem. This year, we outperformed our student-to-partner connection targets.”
